There is a lot to think about when planning your wedding day. What you want it to look like, how you want it to feel, your vendors, your timeline, etc. A good place to start is choosing your wedding venue. There are so many gorgeous Hawaii wedding venues and you can probably come up with a list of your top ten in less than five minutes. If you close your eyes where do you see yourself standing? Cliffside? On the beach? Surrounded by lush greenery? Paliku Gardens is probably our top three in terms of the best venues on island. It has views of Chinaman’s Hat and is situated right next to those ridiculously gorgeous mountains that you see in movies. It is always such a special treat to photograph weddings here.

Joyce and Darien have been together for over 10 years before they finally decided to tie the knot. They were both born and raised in Hawaii but eventually moved away to Seattle for work. We met up with them a few days before the wedding and chatted about their wedding day over some yummy poke. Everything about their wedding day was so easy going and stress free for them which is super important when planning a destination wedding. The entire day was so amazing! We ended the night with malasadas and new friends.
