HAWAII WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | CAFE JULIA, OAHU

We actually photographed this wedding back in 2017 and had this entire blog post typed up but never published it. While our edit has slightly changed since then- we loved everything about this wedding and still feel all the feels looking back at it and just had to share <3

Jai + Maithili got ready and had their first look at The Moana Surfrider.

Two hundred and fifty of their friends and family flew from various parts of the world to see them get married in Hawaii. I think that kind of gives you an idea of the kind of couple Jai + Maithili are. Maithili is one of the sweetest brides we've ever worked with and Jai literally knew all the names of everyone who worked at The Moana Surfrider. Jai has this theory "only enjai". If you try typing enjai in your phone, it will automatically auto correct to enjoy. He lives by "only enjoy in life". We had the chance to hang with them the day before their wedding at Rumfire, where they had their cocktail party and we left feeling like family.

Indian weddings are SO MUCH FUN! Everyone parties HARD and we’re totally here for all of it! One of their traditions we loved most was the baraat, which is the groom's procession to the wedding ceremony accompanied by his wedding guests. Usually an elephant or horse, Jai's baraat transportation of choice was a bright green rental tricycle. Brad and I could not stop laughing the entire time and had so much fun watching everyone sing and dance to his tricycle entrance as Maithili watched from above.

Both their ceremony and reception were held at Cafe Julia, which is absolutely gorgeous! We love everything about Jai + Maithili's beautiful culture and feel so lucky to have these memories with them. Their wedding was definitely one we will remember forever.
